Facebook Home is now available in the UK from Android Play Store, a week after it was launched in the United States. The mobile app is designed to take over the home screen of Android phones and HTC devices. Meanwhile, HTC First, a dedicated phone with Facebook Home built-in, will be launched in the UK this summer.
What users can expect from Home and the HTC First is constant stream of photos and updates from friends. Improved notifications and new messaging feature called “Chat Heads” can also be expected.
Apple users, on the other hand, will benefit from updates to the Facebook iPhone and iPad apps. With this recent iOS update, Chat heads and Stickers, which are shorthand for expressing emotions, will be introduced. iPad users will see larger stories and photographs on their news feeds.
Facebook Home users in the United States have different feedback on the new application. While others acknowledge its speed and it’s ability to increase Facebook use, others criticize it for lack of widget support.
