Michelle Bass has been axed from the Big Brother house, leaving just five contestants in the race to win fame and fortune on Channel 4's reality TV show.

To a cacophony of boos greeting the announcement she was the one, Michelle is the eighth person to leave the Big Brother house.

The 23-year-old from Newcastle was 1/6 favourite for the chop after viewers were increasingly turned off by her "possessive" behaviour towards housemate and boyfriend Stuart Wilson.

With one week to go in the fifth series of "Big Brother Gets Evil," Stuart, hairdresser Daniel Bryan, student Shell Jubin, former perfume saleswoman Nadia Almada and builder Jason Cowan are all left to fight it out for the cash prize of 53,500 pounds.

The Geordie told McCall it had been "really difficult" to have an onscreen relationship with Stu.

One a half million voted to evict her, according to Davina.

Nadia Almada is 1/4 favourite with bookmakers to win the Channel 4 series.
