Google will soon allow users to mute so-called remarketing ads that track which products they have looked online and promote them on websites that they visit.
Google said that although the ads are useful, it wanted to give users more control over what they see online. The reminder ads will be replaced by other adverts that cannot be muted. The feature will be included when Google updates its ad settings, which will become available to people who have a Google account.
The account dashboard will show people a list of companies that are currently targeting them with remarketing ads.
