Model and actress Heather Locklear has been arrested for a misdemeanour hit-and-run which took place over the weekend.
The 'Spin City' actress allegedly hit a no-parking sign near her home in California in the early hours of Saturday morning.
She apparently left the scene of the accident without telling the authorities - a misdemeanour offense.
Ventura County Sheriffs traced items left behind on the road to her black 2005 BMW.
The sheriffs spokesman Ross Bonfiglio told People magazine: "While Locklear was technically arrested, she was not handcuffed or taken to a station because it was just a misdemeanour charge.
"She was cooperative, but I can't give any information about any statements she made. She was cited and released. She signed a document stating she would make a court appearance.
"It appears she drove up on a curb and hit the sign. We don't have any hard evidence that alcohol was involved. We don't know if anyone was in the car with her at the time."
Heathers lawyer Blair Berk stated that it is unknown whether the six-time Golden Globe nominated actress was at the wheel at the time of the incident.
He said: "Ms. Locklear was cited with a misdemeanour traffic ticket as she is the registered owner of the vehicle. She was never taken into custody.
"The matter is still being looked into as it is not yet clear who was driving the vehicle."
Heather is due in court on May 17. It isn't the first time she has been arrested for a driving related incident.
She was detained for driving under the influence (DUI) in September 2008. Locklear pleaded no contest to reckless driving and was given three years probation.
