Michael Jackson's accuser told police he may have been abused by the singer seven times.
Gavin Arvizo claimed he was definitely molested twice by Jackson at his Neverland Ranch home - but told officers there could have been a further five incidents.
Steve Robel, who led the police investigation, told the Santa Maria courtroom: "Gavin told me two events definitely occurred. He told me he believed it happened between five and seven times, but he could not articulate exactly what occurred."
Robel then went on to describe how the then 13-year-old choked back tears when describing the alleged molestation to officers.
The policeman added: "It took me about 10 minutes to reassure him that he was doing the right thing. He was getting choked up. Eventually, he went on to describe what events occurred."
He also revealed how a surprise police search of Jackson's home was carried out because they were worried evidence could be tampered with.
Officers found baby photos lying alongside pornographic magazines in the singer's bedroom.
Jackson denies all 10 charges.
