Lord Selsdon made comments which led reporters to believe that he had requested, and been given, information of vehicle owners who he had seen tossing rubbish out of their vehicles.
The comment may have been made in jest, since Lord Selsdon is saying that it had never happened, but is still being investigated to ensure that people’s data is protected and being treated in accordance with law.
The conversation originally surrounded the debate of the Littering From Vehicles Bill which promises a direct impact to violators by imposing a fine.
It seems that by threatening to affect finances, the hope is that the bill will be taken seriously and reduce inappropriate waste and control inconsiderate behaviour.
