The multimillion-pound Manchester Science Partnerships' (MSP) tech incubator at Manchester Technology Centre, which was launched just six months ago, is now home to over 20 businesses employing almost 100 people.
Launched by Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, the incubator was specifically designed for start-ups in the fields of data analytics, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, digital health and IoT as well as those involved in building smart cities across the county.
It is backed by £2million of funding from Manchester City Council and is set to create up to 2,000 jobs in data science and technology over the next decades.
MSP managing director Tom Renn said: "In our first six months the Incubator has hosted over 80 sector events including the sold out Manimation 2018 conference, Manchester Digital’s Start-up Stories and Manchester Entrepreneurs’ accelerator programme,"
"We look forward to welcoming the final businesses who will take the remaining places over the coming weeks."
