Pembrokeshire County Council has launched a new digital service that aims to improve communication between its tenants and housing repair crews.
The service has been designed to automatically send text messages to tenants who have reported a problem with their home.
The text messages will contain a reference number and information as to when the repair will be made. At least 24 hours before the crew arrives for repair, another text message will be sent to tenants to ensure that somebody will be at home. If tenants are not at home when the repair is scheduled, a card will be left and they will be asked to call the council to re-arrange.
Cabinet Member for Transformation and Information Technology (IT) Councillor Neil Prior said: “This service provides peace of mind for our tenants.
“It means no more uncertainty wondering when crews will arrive and better communication between us and our tenants which is what we are aiming for with our new digital communication strategy.”
