Ricky Gervais has been asked to re-appear in 'The Simpsons'- after making the show a huge success.
'Office' creator Ricky has become the first guest star to ever be invited back to the hit US show, which has seen appearances from a host of stars, including U2, Sir Elton John and Tom Jones.
The 44-year-old funnyman impressed the producers when an episode he recently penned for the popular programme drew the biggest ratings of the year.
A show source was quoted in Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Ricky was a massive hit. We're desperate to get him back as soon as possible to repeat the success."
Gervais was first invited to work on the animated series after show creator Matt Groening called to congratulate him on winning two Golden Globe awards.
Ricky, who has confessed to being a massive fan of the Springfield family, said at the time:
"When I first got into comedy it was my ambition to get a joke on 'The Simpsons'. Now I've got a whole episode. I can imagine waking up one day finding out it's all been a dream."
