New parents Prince William and Kate Middleton appeared on the steps of St. Mary’s Hospital in London on Tuesday, 23rd July, with their new baby for the world to see.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have left the hospital with their first-born, as they headed to Kensington Palace last night to spend their first night at home as a family.
Outside of the hospital the Duchess said: “It's such a special time. I think any parent will know what this feeling feels like.”
And the Duke explained that they would be choosing a name for their baby “as soon as we can”.
While the Duchess was holding their baby boy during his first public appearance yesterday, he appeared to give his first royal wave!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said in a statement that they would like to “thank the staff at the Lindo Wing and the whole hospital for the tremendous care the three of us have received”.
The baby Prince, who is third in line to the throne, will be styled as HRH Prince (name) of Cambridge.
The new royal baby was born on Monday, 22nd July, at 16.24 BST. He weighed 8lb 6oz.
