Streaming services are now replacing cable TV as the go-to destination for hot shows. As long as you have a reliable Internet broadband connection, you can watch live TV online. You can take advantage of cable-replacement service that offer a variety of familiar channels. The only difference is that they come over the Internet instead of through satellite signals or analog cables. Examples of these services are Direct TV, Sling TV and Playstation Vue, which offer additional channels that you can watch in real time, just as you would on a standard cable subscription.
You can also watch live TV using DVR boxes from companies such as TiVo, Slingbox, Verizon and Dish, which can usually stream content from your primary TV to a mobile device or computer. The majority of service providers have apps for computers, mobile devices and/or TVs that will let you access their full accounts.
If you want live TV but don’t want a satellite or cable subscription, HD antenna could be perfect for you. It picks up local TV signals from the airwaves and shows them on your TV. This option is for free but you have to spend about £40 for the HD antenna. Depending on where you live, you could gain access to up to a hundred channels.
