After plenty of hype, the debut album by the Sheffield pop-rockers became the UK’s fastest selling album, eventually going quadruple platinum after riding high off the hit singles ‘I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor’ and ‘When The Sun Goes Down’.
Essentially a clubbing album for the afflicted youth of Northern England, the songs take a first person narrative thrusting the listener right into the dirty, late-night action.
