Electronic cigarettes may be facing a few challenges. Sensible regulations will mean the product is still available but that it will not be marketed to minors or non-smokers.
Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) also faced scrutiny. Here are a few things you can watch out for with regards to PPI:
- Fast talkers—this is something to watch out for literally. If a sales person is talking a little too fast for you to follow everything, beware. The person could speak swiftly all the time, but they could also be employing the technique to make you feel rushed into making a decision for a product or service like PPI that has multiple factors, which need to be fully understood.
- All good information—if you have someone trying to sell you something that is all good, ask yourself why they would even have to sell that. You do not necessarily have to throw out the whole product or service like PPI, but you just want to ask a few questions to find out requirements, billing practices, and ask for documentation of some sort before making a decision.
- Electronic acceptance—sometimes companies use a form of electronic permission that records you accepting the terms of some type of agreement. This could be used for a service such as PPI, a payment made over the phone, or other product. If someone wants an electronic record of your acceptance, be sure you know exactly what you are agreeing to, and do not allow the person to rush you into anything.
