Keaton joins Herbie cast

"Batman" actor Michael Keaton has reportedly joined the cast of new Disney flick "Herbie: Fully Loaded".

"Batman" actor Michael Keaton has reportedly joined the cast of new Disney flick "Herbie: Fully Loaded".

Herbie, the VW Beetle with a mind of its own, is set to return in a new Hollywood action offering.

Keaton will star alongside the new Herbie and "Freaky Friday" actress Lindsay Lohan in the movie.

There has been no official confirmation as yet of the role he will play, though punters are tipping him as the car's hapless owner, Jim Douglas.

Fully Loaded is reportedly a reworking of the 1968 film "The Love Bug". The movie places Herbie in the breakneck world of NASCAR racing, a la "Days Of Thunder", and the eponymous white bug, number 53, is likely to be an old-style Beetle rather than the new design.

Pre-production on Herbie, directed by Angela Robinson, is currently underway.
