Veteran rockers Status Quo will make a star appearance in Coronation Street at the wedding of Cilla Brown and lover Les Battersby.
Actor Bruce Jones, who plays layabout Les, is a massive Quo fan, a passion he shares with his character.
And apparently the feeling is mutual, with band members Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt admitting that they never miss an episode of the soap.
They even refuse to go on stage before Corrie and always have it taped when they tour abroad, the Daily Star reports.
Actor Bruce was over the moon at the news that the band will be breaking off their European tour to visit the Street's Manchester studios.
A soap insider told the Daily Mirror: "Bruce was ecstatic when he heard the news. He won't be able to contain himself when they turn up on set."
How his character Les copes with coming face to face with his idols should also present a few laughs.
His obsession with Status Quo was revealed recently when he was seen rifling through the tip where Cilla, played by Wendi Peters, chucked all his possessions.
He emerged triumphantly, shouting: "It's here! Twelve Gold Bars by Status Quo!"
A Status Quo spokesman added: "It's a brilliant honour to get this chance and we're really looking forward to it.
"I don't know exactly what they've got planned for us but it will be great. The lads love the show and never miss it."
