Britney Spears says she has taken a vow of silence after being stung by a magazine interview.
The pop babe says on her website, britneyspears.com, that she will no longer discuss her personal life with the media after journalists from America's Allure magazine branded her "hardly more grown-up than many pre-teens".
She wrote: "I feel the article focused too much on my personal life and events from my past which I've already dealt with and have fully moved on."
The magazine's comments came after the 23-year-old star gave an intimate interview to Allure in which she talked about her struggle to adapt to married life and the Michael Jackson scandal.
Britney bizarrely advised Jackson to grow some facial hair and get drunk to help deal with his demons.
She told Allure: "If he did those things, I feel sorry for him. I feel he needs some help.
"He needs someone to be like, 'OK, let's buck you up, let's give you a moustache, let's rough you up, let's go to a bar, let's get drunk and be a man.'"
She added on her website: "In the future, I will refrain from discussing my private life in interviews. It will be expressed solely through art."
