Downtrodden Corrie husband Jack Duckworth is forced to take his wife on holiday - or face having sex with her every day for a fortnight.
It's a nasty decision for poor Jack, played by Bill Tarmey, who just wants to stay at home and look after his beloved pigeons.
He has already fobbed off battleaxe wife Vera, played by Liz Dawn, with various excuses about why they can't go away on holiday.
The pensioner doesn't like Spain because of the heat, finds Portugal too far away and says France is too full of garlic, the Daily Star reports.
But when Vera starts suggesting that the couple spice up their sex life instead of going on holiday, Jack suddenly becomes incredibly keen on a change of scene.
He jumps at the chance to go to Southport - and in the process saves himself from what could otherwise have been a deeply frightening encounter.
"Vera taunts him about how long it's been since she last had sex, claiming she feels she's living the life of a nun," a Weatherfield insider told the newspaper.
