The Big Brother housemates are running scared - not because of tonight's potentially explosive shocking eviction surprise - but because the house is haunted, well, maybe.

Attention-seeking Kemal is convinced that a ghost is looming among them and such is his conviction that the others are starting to look eerily unsettled.

Indeed now, many of them are more worried about simply making it to tonight's eviction in one piece as opposed to getting booted out of the spooky house.

The 19-year-old scaredycat whimpered to Makosi: "I'm freaked, this place is like a big fun house, scary things happen.

"There are spirits controlling this place. I know about these things, I watched Richard and Judy and there were people on there who were experts in these matters."

He insisted that a ghost floats around the kitchen by the bin, "because every time you walk in things fall".

Unpopular breast-exposer Orlaith added that she'd heard a ghost in the kitchen early one morning before experiencing another even more frightening apparition incident.

"I was on the ground," she said, lips trembling, "and it was as if there was a force holding me there". Chilling stuff.

Kemal believes that white witch Mary, the first evictee, could be behind the scary goings-on.

"The spirit got rid of Mary and is now working towards us because she was a barrier to the spirit - she had a voodoo doll," the belly-dancer added.

"Mary talked about them and now they're here!"

Despite their inane ramblings however, this whole episode could prove to be a blessing in disguise for the show's chiefs.

The introduction of ghostly happenings, ie poltergeists, into the Big Brother house could provide some genuine entertainment for viewers.
