English actress and model Kelly Brook has been named the sexiest woman in the world by men's magazine FHM.

The curvy brunette beat off some stiff competition to claim the prestigious title,

Brook held off Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Tweedy into second place and Hollywood sex symbol Angelina Jolie into third.

EastEnders actress Michelle Ryan was a surprise fourth while Elisha Cuthbert, star of 24, and Britney Spears took fifth and sixth place respectively.

"No one from England ever wins this. It's always Jennifer Lopez or Britney Spears so I'm honoured," said Brook at the awards ceremony.

The top ten was completed by Halle Berry, Sarah Harding, Beyonce Knowles and Charlotte Church. Abi Titmuss was 11th.
