After more than three decades, and after years of legal wrangling, UK band STATUS QUO is reuniting! Not only to clear the air, but the band will come back together to celebrate the release of a documentary film about them, entitled ‘HELLO QUO’.
‘HELLO QUO’ is Alan G Parker’s, a well-known music filmmaker, new definitive fly-on-the-wall documentary film that features great interviews and footages of the rock band since their very early days. There will also be interviews with the likes of Brian May, Paul Weller, Sir Cliff Richard, Thin Lizzy, Buzzcocks, Slade, and Midge Ure.
The documentary is thought to contain classic live material and previously unseen footage with full exclusive access to all band members.
STATUS QUO made 22 Top 10 hits and spent 415 weeks in the UK singles chart. This makes them one of the most successful rock bands in the history of UK. They’ve also sold over 118 million albums worldwide. Their 29th studio album ‘Quid Pro Con’ also made it to Top 10 hit.
On October 22nd 2012, the documentary ‘HELLO QUO’ will be shown at London’s Leicester Square, and all band members are expected to attend. For this one night only screening, the band members will reportedly conduct a one-off Q&A.
The DVD, Blu-ray, and collector’s Edition DVD will go on sale on October 29th.
Director Alan G. Parker said: “I’m the last director in the world to look like I was right for this project but then the same could be said of Monty Python and I love what we’ve done. I believe we’ve made a film that’s as good as the group.”
Rod Smith, Acquisitions Director at Anchor Bay Entertainment said: “Anchor Bay are excited to be working with such iconic and much loved British rock legends as Status Quo. We are proud to be associated with the band during such an exciting time in their long and successful history. This remarkable film is destined to be a smash success and a perfect Christmas gift for all lovers of great music.”
