Walton Hall and Gardens CCTV Targets Criminals

The council has submitted plans to install a total of nine cameras to various structures to deter illegal activities at Walton Hall and Gardens. Authorities said that the move would 'not be detrimental to the historic nature of the buildings and will provide security for visitors to the estate and its employees'.

It added: "We propose to incorporate a comprehensive CCTV installation throughout the estate.

"It is considered necessary to increase the CCTV coverage to deter future damage and vandalism to the buildings and to help to prevent criminal activities, or misuse of the estate, without compromising the historical integrity of the buildings.

"In recent years vandalism and damage to the buildings have diminished the integrity of the buildings.

"In recent years CCTV cameras have been incorporated onto the estate around the hall and the cafe courtyard.

"In order to prevent/deter further illegal activity, we wish to install a further 24 closed circuit television cameras within the estate that will capture images on all entrances and exits to each building.

"This application will be focused on the nine cameras that are to be positioned on the buildings."
