Carla Bruni's father-in-law has revealed that the French First Lady is expecting a child with President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Pregnancy rumours have been circulating since April 2011, but the President's office has so far declined to comment.

However, 86-year-old Pal Sarkozy, the President's father, has let slip, telling reporters:
"I'm glad to be having a grandchild.
"Neither wants to know the gender beforehand, but I'm certain it will be a girl, and beautiful like Carla."
President Sarkozy married 43-year-old former supermodel Carla in 2008.
Bruni already has a 10-year-old son from a previous relationship and 56-year-old Sarkozy has three sons, aged between 25 and 13, from his two previous marriages.
