French blood banks targeted in cyber-attacks
French blood banks have been hit by cyber-attacks, the latest in a wider series of attacks on targets across Europe.
The incidents have put the country's blood supply services under pressure, with the organisations involved now dealing with the aftermath. Blood banks hold stocks that hospitals rely on for surgery, emergency care and cancer treatment, making any disruption to their systems a concern for health services.
The attacks on the blood banks sit alongside a run of other cyber-attacks on European organisations.
